A chiropractic adjustment is the art of using a specific force in a precise direction, applied to a joint that is fixated, "locked up", or not moving properly. This adds motion to the joint, helping the bones gradually return to a more normal position and motion. The purpose of this safe and natural procedure is improved spinal function, improved nervous system function, and improved health.
There are many ways to adjust the spine. Dr. Koch uses a wide range of techniques that range from the very gentle to the traditional "hands on" chiropractic techniques. Diversified, Gonstead, Activator, Sacro Occipital Technique, HIO, Cox, and Thompson (drop table) are the most common techniques that Dr. Koch uses. He also utilizes motorized traction tables to help patients who suffer from bulging or herniated disc problems. His goal is to deliver the most appropriate technique for each patient.
Dr Koch treats patients of all ages. Because his office is located in Washington Twp., NJ, most of his patients are from Gloucester County. His practice is a mix of pediatric and family care, people experiencing problems with degenerative discs, and also many of South Jersey's senior citizens. Because of his love of sports, he treats athletes of all ages. Dr. Koch has been in private practice at his current location since 1994.
In his free time, Dr. Koch and his wife enjoy watching their 2 sons play soccer and lacrosse. Occasionally the entire family will participate in local charity 5k races. Summertime is the Koch family's favorite time of the year because they get to spend time with family and friends at the Jersey Shore. In the free time left over, Dr. Koch enjoys participating in triathlons and running races which you can learn more about at the sports link above.
